Day One, National Poetry Month

Beginnings

The compulsion to create is a human need
programmed into our psyche like breathing
like tidal
like prayer
this space, blank white potentials promised
this page, lined to guide pen and ink through the permanence of art
stationary staying
scratch dot symphony
and how the stylings dapple like rainfall
in the freshly tilled garden
where artistry blooms.

Handwritten, cursive signature says "pea flower tea" in lowercase letters. The flower is a small sketch of a bloom, instead of the word for "flower".
