The Wheel Project
This is an ongoing project that will take shape over one full pagan calendar year
This turn of the wheel brings us to Yule, the winter festival and the longest night of the year. Follow me on Instagram or Twitter for notifications when new pieces of this project go live.
The coldest night of the year feels sweeter for the friendships fostered at the hearth of our homes and hearts.
The longest night approaches, and we rejoice in the pleasure
the mead
the chocolate
the spiced rum and cakes
the laughter and the love
the stories and the treasured gifts
We light the trees and burn the yule log
carved in the cycle of a year, from Yule Tree to Maypole to Yule Log, present for each celebration in between
holding the images of beloved dead at Samhain aloft on the altar
Sweetening the Mabon bakes with hand-laid blessings
each story whispered into the knotted wood
to carry forward to today, burned to release the magic our fellowship created all year long.
Old traditions honored and new traditions forged
side by side with the bubbly joy yuletide greetings pour into your neighbor's cups
until they overflow with song and spirited love.
