Original art by pea 🌸 tea.
Graphite sketch of the Mormon Temple as seen from 495, before an overpass train trestle. A line of trees separates the temple and the bridge. Cars drive around the corner to the right under the bridge. The bridge is tinted rust red, and. The temple is tinted emerald green, to evoke The Emerald City from The Wizard of Oz. Letters painted onto the train trestle read, “SURRENDER DONALD”.

The old phrase, “Surrender Dorothy”, was my all time absolute favorite thing to see when I lived in the D.C. area. Coming around that corner on the 495 Outer Loop near Bethesda is always breathtaking.  I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to sketch this fantastic recreation of an old favorite. The source photo came from @mymcmedia on Instagram.

Handwritten, cursive signature says "pea flower tea" in lowercase letters. The flower is a small sketch of a bloom, instead of the word for "flower".
