Belle Absente (The Beautiful Outlaw)
Form Rules
A Belle Absente, also called The Beautiful Outlaw, is created by choosing a hidden word and writing around each letter of that word by assigning each stanza or line of your poem to that letter. Within each stanza, the assigned letter can NOT be used, but you must use all of the remaining letters of whatever alphabet/language your poem was written in. So, as I wrote this in English, every stanza or line will contain all 25 other letters, but not the letter to which the stanza is assigned. Similar to an acrostic poem, where the first letter of each line spells something downward, you can find the chosen word by finding out what single letter is missing from each line or stanza. The missing word is usually included within the poem's title, or as an aside.
