Day Five, National Poetry Month

Teacup with Orchids

I filled my teacup with an orchid plant
instead of Japanese green
because I wanted the flower to feel
as warm and loved as the tea makes me feel.

Handwritten, cursive signature says "pea flower tea" in lowercase letters. The flower is a small sketch of a bloom, instead of the word for "flower".

National Poetry Month is a poetry writing challenge, where participants write a poem every day through the month of April.
